MusiCares and Vivid Seats have joined forces to provide relief to those in the music community affected by Hurricane Ida.
MusiCares’ relief effort was fully funded by a generous donation from Vivid Seats and has thus allowed the organization to help hundreds with essentials like food, water, gas and more (Vivid Seats has donated more than $2m to support MusiCares since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The nonprofit is also evaluating the need to cover healthcare costs, disaster-insurance deductibles and home-repair expenditures.
The New Orleans Musicians' Clinic is mobilizing relief efforts in Louisiana, acting as MusiCares' primary distributor.
"Thanks to Vivid Seats’ donation, MusiCares has moved quickly in partnership with the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic to provide relief to those who needed it most following Hurricane Ida,” said MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura.
"We have been proud to support MusiCares' effort to provide relief to the live-events community," added Vivid Seats CEO Stan Chia. "Its unmatched dedication to urgently mobilizing care for those in need should inspire everyone to support their team."
