U.K. MIDWEEKS: FOUR FIGHT FOR #1

Elton John, Duran Duran, Lana Del Rey and Biffy Clyro are locked in a four-way battle for #1 on the U.K.'s Official Albums midweek chart. Over on singles, Adele’s “Easy on Me” (Columbia) is set for a second week at the top.

At the halfway point, John’s The Lockdown Sessions (EMI) is leading the way on albums, but with just 4.5k separating his set from the #4 entry.

Duran Duran’s Future Past (BMG) is close behind at #2, while Del Rey opens at #3 with Blue Banisters (Polydor). Biffy Clyro’s The Myth of the Happily Ever After (Warner Music U.K.) sits at #4. Coldplay’s chart-topping Music of the Spheres (Parlophone) drops to #5 but continues to lead the way on streaming.

Three more new releases could land in this week’s Top 10: a 40th anniversary expanded edition of The Rolling StonesTattoo You (Polydor) at #7, Prioritise Pleasure (Universal) by Self Esteem at #8 and A View From the Top of the World (InsideOutMusic) by Dream Theater at #9.

Elsewhere on the U.K.'s Official Singles chart, “My Heart Goes (La Di Da)” (Polydor) from Becky Hill and Topic could jump one place to #10, which would score Hill her fifth Top 10 and Topic his third.

Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd are on track to claim this week’s highest new entry with "Moth to a Flame" (Republic), on course to debut at #12.

ABBA could gain their 29th U.K. Top 40 single on Friday, with “Just a Notion” (Polydor) heading for a #14 debut. Finally, Digga D’s “Red Light Green Light” (EGA) is new at #16.
