BTS TO UMG

UMG topper Sir Lucian Grainge and IGA boss John Janick have inked a deal with K-pop superstars BTS. Under the terms of the new licensing/distribution pact, BTS will release through Geffen/Ingrooves. The arrangement was struck via Bang Si-Hyuk-led Korean firm HYBE (fka Big Hit), which earlier this year announced a JV with Geffen.

BTS has hitherto been distribbed by Columbia/The Orchard.

Word has it that Scooter Braun, who sold his Ithaca Holdings to HYBE in April, played a role in the deal.
