The first Def Jam project from Snoop Dogg since he became Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant arrives today: a supergroup featuring Ice Cube, E-40, Too Short and Snoop himself.
“Big Subwoofer” by Mount Westmore is the first track off the forthcoming Snoop Dogg Presents THE ALGORITHM. The rappers may be West Coast but the video is outer space.
“There’s so much talent on this record,” Snoop said between puffs on a blunt, “so many styles of music—it breaks the algorithm. Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”
The release is timed to Snoop’s 50th birthday, which is today. Expect heavy smoke clouds over Long Beach.
