Warner Music Group and Mattel have announced that they’re partnering with iHeart Radio to launch Barbie Radio exclusively on iHeartRadio and iHeartRadio Family, their kid-friendly stand-alone app.
Barbie Radio is Mattel’s first branded radio channel. It features the shapely figurine as a DJ, playing her own songs, including tracks from her latest album, Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams. If your doll of an artist wants some spins, talk to PD Skipper about the FedEx delivery of, oh, we dunno, maybe a dream house?
Mattel has recently expanded further into the music world by introducing Barbie Music Producer dolls, partnering with Grammy Award-nominated artist Ester Dean and Girls Make Beats, an organization dedicated to supporting female producers, DJs and audio engineers.
If Barbie wants to be on Country radio, meanwhile, she's going to have to talk to a lot of Kens who think they're G.I. Joe.
