On Friday, Adele's "Easy on Me" (Columbia), set a new record, becoming Spotify's most-streamed song in a single day. Jeremy Erlich has tissues if you need them.
Here's what else we know for a fact: It's #1 on Apple Music's Top Songs and #1 at iTunes. It was the #1 track and image on Spotify's New Music Friday and Apple Music's New Music Daily, with lots of real estate on DSP landing pages. The video for "Easy" has racked up about 72m views in three days on YouTube.
The hubbub surrounding Adele's return has gotten people streaming her catalog again; 25 is a Top 20 streaming album on Apple, while 21 is Top 30. Meanwhile, pre-orders have begun on new album 30 (due 11/19), with retailers offering special-edition CDs; Target's version has three exclusive tracks.
Stay tuned for further updates.
.@Adele's #EasyOnMe and @BTS_twt's "Butter" hold the top 2 biggest single day stream counts in Spotify history, with over 20 million each. Both on @ColumbiaRecords.
