35 YEARS OF TRUE COLORS

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors, Legacy Recordings will release an expanded digital edition of the album on 10/15.

The updated version will include two new songs, Junior Vasquez' Pride Remix of "True Colors" and "Heading for the Moon"—the original B-side of "True Colors”; the latter will be accompanied by a lyric video. Lauper is also sharing her own “True Colors” Instagram filter for the occasion.

Originally released on 10/14/1986 via Epic sister label Portrait, True Colors sold 7m+ copies, was certified double platinum and earned two Grammy nominations: Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the title track and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for “911.”

"True Colors," itself certified platinum, has served as an LGBTQ+ anthem for more than three decades.

Following her 2008 True Colors Tour supporting LGBTQ+ equality, Lauper co-founded True Colors United. The nonprofit focuses on the experiences of LGBTQ+ youth, who make up 40% of the homeless-youth population in the U.S. For more info on True Colors United, click here.
