We suggested on Saturday that Taylor Swift’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) could be a roadblock preventing the latest release from Drake or Meek Mill from reaching the top of Friday’s HITS Top 50. It’s no longer a suggestion; Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will easily take the #1 spot—giving Republic its 19th week at #1 this year.
The only question now is how big will the number be? North of 130k had been reported by Sunday, with most of those units coming from Swift’s online store.
The rollout is similar to what propelled Tay's evermore back to #1 earlier this year with more than 200k in total activity. Of that, 102k came from vinyl sales, setting the modern record by more than double. Will Fearless (Taylor’s Version) break 200k, and will Swift beat her own vinyl sales record? Never bet against Taylor Swift.
