Urban-marketing wiz Lena Franklin has joined Def Jam as VP of Marketing. Prior to coming aboard in June, she spent five years at Interscope, where she worked on campaigns for Kendrick Lamar, Summer Walker, Lil Mosey and ScHoolboy Q, among others.
“Lena brings a combination of savvy, sophistication and creativity to our marketing team as she continues to grow as an executive,” said Interim Chairman/CEO Jeff Harleston. “I’m confident she will play a significant role in driving the energy, passion and creative direction of our marketing efforts.”
“Def Jam has a rich history of breaking incredible artists. I believe marketing is a core pillar of that success story, and I can’t wait to break the next generation of stars," said Franklin.
Franklin has taken the reins on projects ranging from Alessia Cara’s new album, In the Meantime, to work by Kaash Paige to Ludacris’ new Netflix children’s show, Karma’s World—all while fanning away the smoke from Snoop's office.
