City of Hope has partnered with RWQuarantunes for a special virtual Songs of Hope celebration, scheduled for today at 5:30pm PDT. Brandi Carlile and Smokey Robinson are among the honorees.
Carlile will receive Universal Music Publishing Group’s She Is the Music Award; Gracie Abrams and Blake Slatkin will be honored with the Facebook Songwriter Impact Award; Robinson will take home the Clive Davis Legend in Songwriting Award; Hildur Guðnadóttir is EA Music Composer of the Year; and the Sony Music Publishing Creative Trailblazer Award will go to Daniel Nigro. The late Pop Smoke, meanwhile, will be honored with Warner Chappell’s Voice of Hope Award. Jimmy Jam will serve as emcee.
The event will highlight the work of City of Hope’s Division of Health Equities and Department of Supportive Care Medicine, committed to delivering compassionate, specialized cancer care to patients and their families.
Co-chairs of the event are Doug Davis of The Davis Firm, UMPG North America President Evan Lamberg, David Renzer and Steve Schnur, President of Music for Electronic Arts.
