MOTOWN DIGITAL STRATEGY IN ANDERSON'S HANDS

Former Epic Records marketing exec JD Anderson has been named Senior Vice President of Marketing and Digital Strategy at Motown Records.

Anderson will report to Motown EVP, Marketing, Brian Nolan and work across Motown’s roster to create campaigns for both established and emerging artists.

“JD’s talent, experience and knowledge along with his competitive spirit and dedication will only enhance and expand our ability to support our artists,” said Ethiopia Habtemariam, Chairwoman and CEO of Motown.

During his eight years at Epic, Anderson was key to marketing efforts for Future, including directing a documentary on the artist, and DJ Khaled. He spent five years at Def Jam Recordings, where he was hired after directing a music video for The-Dream’s “Panties to the Side.” He made it onto the HITS Noisemakers list last year but we understand if he wants that kept hush-hush.

“The depth of JD’s experience in the industry and across marketing and the digital landscape provides a unique skill set that will benefit our artists in helping them continue to communicate their vision and music to their fans,” Nolan said.
