FOOTBALL IS LIFE: 20+ YEARS OF FIFA

Peep the BBC piece on the legacy of EA's FIFA soundtrack and its impact on artists, fans and gaming culture. Since 1998, music by acts from Blur ("Song 2") to Gorillaz to Billie Eilish has been used in the video game. The FIFA soundtrack has also been crucial to breaking developing and even unsigned acts from around the world.

Artists scoring a coveted spot in the 2022 game, which arrives 10/1, include girl in red, SEB, Little Simz, Glass Animals, Swedish House Mafia and more.

We reached out to EA global music boss Steve Schnur to comment on the latest edition of the soundtrack, but after bingeing Ted Lasso this summer, all he had to offer was "Football is life, amigo." Fingers crossed Dani Rojas is a secret character.
