WEA’s Matt Young is stepping away from the company after a 13-year tenure. There’s no word yet on his next move.
WEA President Maria Weaver announced his departure in a memo obtained by HITS, which reads in part:
“Matt is an incredible leader who has built an expert team of music lovers committed to connecting artists and fans. The service-oriented approach he’s cultivated has resulted in a market-leading global offering that’s become a crucial part of Warner Music Group’s business. Whether it’s product/merch for legendary superstars or activations and digital experiences for up-and-coming talent, Matt and his team have consistently found creative ways to bring artists’ visions to life… It’s never easy to say goodbye to one of our friends, so let’s not say goodbye—let’s celebrate all of Matt’s accomplishments and cheer him on for his next adventure.”
