SONY PARTNERS WITH NFT SHOP MAKERSPLACE

Sony Music has announced a strategic partnership with MakersPlace, an NFT marketplace for digital art. Shakira, Tom Morello and T-Pain are among the artists offering original audio-visual NFTs on the platform.

Musicians can either discover or be matched with digital artists on MakersPlace to collaborate on NFTs, which can be minted and offered securely to the platform's community of collectors. Fans will be able to acquire works by their favorite artists with ease as the marketplace accepts U.S. dollars. as well as cryptocurrency.

Sony's developmental partnership with MakersPlace puts an exclamation point on the platform's Series A funding round, which included SME, Eminem, Paul Rosenberg and 3LAU.

Shakira's collaboration with artist BossLogic, La Caldera, kicks off the SME partnership on 9/21. Feast your eyes on the upcoming collections here.
