Insiders are saying that acclaimed artist Frank Ocean, who has been releasing material independently since exiting his Def Jam deal ahead of his 2016 masterpiece, Blonde, is shopping a new album.
Sources are also saying the album is fucking great. What kind of deal is the 2023 Coachella headliner in search of? Attorney Laurie Soriano of King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano is representing Ocean, who's reportedly been taking meetings and playing the music for execs as he plans his return.
Since releasing the Grammy-winning album Channel Orange (2012), Ocean has done his best to avoid doing business with the majors.
In the wake of Blonde, which was certified platinum in 2018, Ocean has released about a dozen songs and appeared as a featured artist on tracks by Travis Scott, Calvin Harris (the quadruple-platinum “Slide”), Tyler, The Creator and Jay-Z.
Who's courting Frank? Stay tuned.
