EMMYS HONOR MUSIC

Bo Burnham, EGOT Robert Lopez and the music supervisors on HBO’s I May Destroy You were among the winners in music categories at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, handed out over the weekend.

Burnham’s Outstanding Music Direction trophy was one of five Emmys he picked up over the weekend for his Netflix special, Bo Burnham: Inside. For Lopez, it was his first Primetime Emmy win, having received two Daytime Emmys.

I May Destroy You’s music supervisors Ciara Elwis and Matt Biffa were both first-time nominees.

In addition, Netflix’s Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square won the Television Movie award and the HBO documentary The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart received a sound-editing nod.

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will be held Sunday and aired on CBS.
