Republic’s Alex Coslov has been promoted to SVP of Marketing Strategy by EVP/GM Jim Roppo.
Sporting his SVP stripes, Coslov will continue to devise, engage, and enact marketing strategies and initiatives for a diverse roster, including Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, Florence + the Machine, Lorde, James Blake, Clairo, John Mellencamp, Yung Gravy, Glass Animals, Lord Huron, James Bay and Bastille. In the last 18 months, he’s spearheaded the rollout of five Top 10 albums, including Glass Animals’ Dreamland, Bo Burnham’s Inside and Pearl Jam’s Gigaton, the last of which picked up a pair of CLIO Awards.
Roppo fashioned an effusive quote for the press release, asserting that “Alex consistently identifies and maximizes cutting-edge opportunities that not only move the needle but make waves throughout popular culture. I’m always excited to see what he comes up with next.”
“Republic is a family business, and I love that,” Coslov offered. “This is more than just music and numbers to Jim and Monte and Avery Lipman. They make us feel like we’re a part of something bigger and challenge us to be the best we can be. As a team, we’re always finding, galvanizing, and activating audiences with moments. On every campaign, my goal is to have our campaign as a whole or a single activation that will end up on someone else’s mood board for their future campaign. We’re always collectively pushing to raise the bar together.”
Coslov joined Republic in 2017 as VP of Marketing Strategy following four years at Ultra Music, where he led the marketing department. The Syracuse grad entered the business as an intern at Epic and Red Light Management.
