Justin Bieber will make his return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage for the first time in six years with a performance on Sunday, 9/12. Perhaps not coincidentally, he's garnered seven VMA nominations, including Artist of the Year and Video of the Year (for his role in DJ Khaled’s “POPSTAR").
Other VMA performers include Kacey Musgraves, Chlöe, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Twenty One Pilots, Camila Cabello, Doja Cat (who will also host), Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo and Megan Thee Stallion. Foo Fighters will receive the first ever Global Icon Award, after which Nandi Bushell will challenge Dave Grohl to a trophy-off.
The VMAs return to New York City this year, airing live at 8pm ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in one of the first major awards shows in the pandemic era to have a live audience.
