U.K. MIDWEEKS: FIVE VIE FOR #1

There are five new entries battling it out for this week’s #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, with Chvrches currently in the lead by a slim margin. Over on singles, Ed Sheeran still rules.

With less than 2k in chart sales separating the Top 5 albums at the halfway point, the top spot is well in play. Chvrches’ Screen Violence (Virgin) leads the race, followed by the debut from Maisie Peters, You Signed Up for This (Gingerbread Man), and Kanye West’s Donda (UMG), which leads on digital downloads and streams, at #3.

Halsey starts at #4 with If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (EMI), followed by Becky Hill’s Only Honest on the Weekend (Polydor), at #5.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Posh Pop (Demon) by Toyah starts at #9, and a five-disc Beach Boys box set, Feel Flows: The Sunflower & Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 (Capitol), is #10.

OneRepublic are eyeing up a Top 20 placement with fifth studio album Human (Interscope), at #14, while The Kooks’ 2006 #2 debut, Inside In/Inside Out (Virgin), could re-enter the chart at #19 thanks to a 15th anniversary reissue.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” (Atlantic) looks set for another week at #1.

Joel Corry & Jax Jones’ hit collaboration, “Out Out” (Atlantic), has climbed five places to #5, while Anne-Marie & Little Mix’s “Kiss My (Uh Oh)” (Atlantic) flies six places to #8 following a "Girl Power Remix" featuring Becky Hill, Raye and Stefflon Don.

Tones & I’s “Fly Away” (Parlophone) rises four to #9. “Butter” (Big Hit) by BTS could return to the Official Chart this week courtesy of a new remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion. It's at #14 today.
