Social live-media platform Moment House has closed a $12m Series A financing round led by Forerunner Ventures. Other investors include Halsey, UTA Ventures, Whitney Cummings, KAYTRANADA and his manager William Robillard-Cole and Cameo founder Devon Townsend.
Moment House was hatched at Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre’s innovation academy at USC. It brings artist and creator communities together for ticketed events, or "moments." Early investors included Troy Carter, Scooter Braun, Steve Stoute’s UnitedMasters, Post Malone co-manager Austin Rosen, Logic manager Chris Zarou and actor Jared Leto.
Recent Moment House clients include Tame Impala, St. Vincent, Kygo and KAYTRANADA.
Halsey will deliver a Moment House performance 8/28-29 in support of her new album, If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (Capitol). Tickets are available here.
“This fundraising round allows us to deepen the consumer social experience and open up the platform so any creator can make a Moment,” said Moment House CEO and co-founder Arjun Mehta. “Everything we've done so far is just Step 1 of a much bigger plan to help build the metaverse.” Freaky, man.
