WE COULD DRINK A CASE OF THIS

The legendary Joni Mitchell has been tapped as 2022's MusiCares Person of the Year. She'll be the honoree at an L.A. gala on 1/29, just before the Grammys

Proceeds from the event at the L.A. Convention Center will support MusiCares, which provides health care and other services to music professionals.

Expect an array of artists to perform in tribute to Joni, one of the most accomplished and musically sophisticated singer/songwriters of the modern era. There will also be a banquet and silent auction.

"I'm honored to be chosen as Person of the Year by this great charity," reads a quote from the iconic star. "I look forward to being part of this gala that will help MusiCares continue their inspired work in providing a support system for those in need."

MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura hailed Mitchell both for her incredible work and "her trailblazing spirit and the inspiration she's brought to so many artists."

The event, which we're told will follow all necessary COVID precautions, is being produced by Lewis + Clark, aka TV event explorers Joe Lewis and R.A. Clark.

Now start preparing by listening to Ladies of the Canyon, Blue, Court and Spark, Miles of Aisles, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hejira and Mingus. Or you can just start with one of these playlists.
