According to reports, Chief Awards Officer Bill Freimuth is out at the Recording Academy as of 8/13, along with comms VP Lourdes Lopez and Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer Lisa Farris.
Freimuth, who's been a key Academy player since 2004, was the focus of much conversation regarding the highly controversial and extremely secretive nominations and awards process. His exit marks one of the most substantive changes wrought by CEO Harvey Mason Jr.
Lopez has been with the organization since 2002 and was promoted to VP in 2019. Farris came aboard in 2019 as well.
