U.K. MIDWEEKS: A TIGHT TOP 3

Will Young’s eighth set, Crying on the Bathroom Floor (Cooking Vinyl), is leading the U.K.’s Official Albums midweeks, while The Weeknd currently has the highest new entry at singles.

With just 1.7k in sales separating the Top 3 albums, Young may be surpassed before Friday. His closest competition is a reissue of George Harrison’s 1970 masterwork, All Things Must Pass (Apple Corps), at #2, and Brian May’s remastered 1992 solo debut, Back to the Light (Universal), at #3.

Last week’s #1, Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever (Polydor), drops to #4.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Barbra Streisand’s vault compilation, Release Me 2 (Columbia), starts at #5, and London rapper Fredo’s third album, Independence Day (Since 93), opens at #8.

Nas could score his third Top 20 album, with Kings Disease III (Mass Appeal) at #13, while U.K. folk/Americana outfit The Wandering Hearts stick the landing of their new, eponymous album on Cooking Vinyl at #16.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, The Weeknd’s “Take My Breath” (Island) is currently #9. Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” (Atlantic) remains at #1 and looks set to secure a seventh week there.

KSI and Lil Wayne’s collaboration, “Lose” (BMG), starts at #10, while Becky Hill & David Guetta’s “Remember” (Polydor) is on course to hit a new peak, up three places to #4. Dance track “Talk About” (Polydor) by Rain Radio and DJ Craig Gorman is up two spots to #15.
