It’s Billie Eilish’s world, and we should be Happier Than Ever that we get to live in it. The singer/songwriter’s second LP sits at #1 at Apple Music and iTunes this Flipover Friday amid a crowded field of new releases.
The clean version of Eilish’s Happier Than Ever is #5 at iTunes, and the album’s lead-off track, “Getting Older,” is its first song to crack the Top 40 at Apple Music.
Eilish is leading a Top 10 at iTunes that’s all new arrivals. At #2 is NPG/Legacy’s latest visit to the Prince vault, his shelved 2010 effort, Welcome 2 America. The eighth album from Needtobreathe, Into the Mystery (Elektra), sniffs out #3, while Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night (RCA) from Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers takes a seat at #4. Clay Walker’s Texas to Tennessee (Show Dog/Thirty Tigers) hangs its hat at #6.
The third album from TDE/Warner rapper Isaiah Rashad, The House Is Burning, is the only other entry to make it into the Top 10 on both charts: It’s #7 in sales and #4 at Apple Music.
Yola’s Stand for Myself (Easy Eye Sound) takes a stand at #8, followed by Logic’s Bobby Tarantino III (Def Jam) at #9; it’s also #21 on the streaming side.
Los Lobos’ love letter to Southern California songwriters, Native Sons (New West), waves the Golden State flag at #10.
At iTunes songs, Sean Stemaly's “Z71” (Big Loud) cracks the Top 10.
