CAPITOL PARTNERS WITH SONG HOUSE LIVE

Capitol Music Group has partnered with the livestreamed songwriting competition Song House Live. Seven participants—Alec Chambers, Caroline Carr, Attis, Diego Fragnaud, Tyler Brash, Olivia Boeyink and Klondike Blonde—are vying for a deal with Capitol.

Created by Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Billy Mann and A&R executive Benton James in collaboration with Rainmaker Holding Group’s Clay Pecorin, Russell Geyser, Jason Halio and Zak Tanjeloff, the competition presents new challenges each week. The contestants will write, record and promote their work all while being livestreamed 24/7 on YouTube.

Capitol will release music from the septet throughout the six-week competition, culminating in the release of a Song House Live Season 1 compilation.

First-week winners Brash and Boeyink today released tracks written about geographical locations assigned to them as part of a challenge. The former's “Thunder Bay” was inspired by Canada, the latter's “Dead Sea” by Turkey and Israel. Kato On The Track (Tyga, Snoop Dogg, B.o.B) produced.

“Partnering with Song House Live presents Capitol with a unique opportunity to discover and nurture rising talent in real time. Together with the Song House Live team, we’re able to meet fans where they consume music faster than ever by accelerating the traditional artist-development process through this innovative concept,” said CMG President/COO Michelle Jubelirer.

“The best part of Song House Live is not knowing what will happen with these artists, who entered the competition with, collectively, millions of fans before any of us arrived,” said Mann.

“Watching these artists churn out viral sound ideas has been amazing; working with Capitol Records, however, is the real game-changer of this project,” said James. “We love how this show illustrates the fast-moving digital environment of young artists, but we’re equally excited about capturing the stories behind each of these talents,” added Pecorin.
