NYC HOMECOMING CONCERT SETS LINEUP

The preliminary lineup for the New York City homecoming concert on 8/21 has been announced, and it includes Andrea Bocelli, Kane Brown, Elvis Costello, Journey and others joining the previously announced Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Jennifer Hudson.

Set in Central Park, broadcast by CNN, WE LOVE NYC: The Homecoming Concert is being produced by New York City, Clive Davis and Live Nation. It will also boast appearances by Jon Batiste, LL Cool J, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Cynthia Erivo, Jimmy Fallon, Wyclef Jean, The Killers, Gayle King, Don Lemon, Barry Manilow, Polo G, Patti Smith, the New York Philharmonic, Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana.

Springsteen and Smith will duet. (The smart money is on “Because the Night,” but wouldn’t it be cool if they did “Hey Joe?")

Said Davis, “There is absolutely no place more special than Central Park to celebrate the reopening of New York City. I consider the mayor’s request a true honor, and, with Live Nation, we are curating an unforgettable show befitting this historic occasion.”

Clive, Doug Davis and the rest of the concert team are expected to announce more names in the near future.

Tickets will become available on Monday (8/2) at 10am at NYC.Gov/HomecomingWeek. Vaccinations will be required for the concert; masks will be optional. Gates open at 3pm; the show starts at 5pm.

Prior to the Central Park show, the city and the Universal Hip Hop Museum will present concerts in the other four boroughs: 8/16 at Orchard Beach in The Bronx; 8/17 at Richmond County Bank Park in Staten Island; 8/19 at Brooklyn Army Terminal in Brooklyn; and 8/20 at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens. Those lineups are expected to be announced soon.
