STADIUM SHOWS RETURN WITH ROLLING LOUD, HELLA MEGA

As the Delta variant triggers an alarming rise in COVID-19 cases across the nation, Rolling Loud Miami and the Hella Mega Tour kicked off the return of massive stadium concerts.

Hella Mega, a rock roadshow headlined by Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer, launched its national baseball stadium tour Saturday at Arlington's Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers. The tweet below from Dallas radio station 97.1 The Eagle shows a packed house for the event.

While seeing such large gatherings might be difficult to process as the highly contagious Delta variant spreads across the nation, the concerts do hold significance as a welcome return to "normal" for the touring industry, with hundreds of thousands of overjoyed fans in attendance.

In Miami, Rolling Loud expected north of 200k fans over the three-day festival, which wraps today; A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott and Post Malone headline along with hip-hop stars 21 Savage, DaBaby, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, The Kid LAROI and Playboi Carti, among others. The video below, from producer/music director Mike Dean, shows the enormous, mostly maskless crowd for Scott's closing set Saturday night.

It should be noted that Rolling Loud worked with the Florida Department of Health to hold a COVID vaccination pop-up at the festival at Hard Rock Stadium. Attendees were able to receive vaccination shots (Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson) on all three days.

Both events are affiliated with Live Nation.
