Some very well-informed people believe this to be the case and caution that a relentless attack on free elections and voting access by the political right is pushing our country in a dangerously authoritarian direction.
One of the most effective and tireless fighters against this trend is Marc Elias, founder of Democracy Docket. Elias steadfastly met the Trump team in court to defeat the latter's attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election; he succeeded brilliantly, winning 64 legal victories.
Elias will be joining former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara—another outspoken advocate for voting rights and against corruption—for a conversation about how to rescue our democracy on 8/8 at 4pm PT/7pm ET.
