HOW FAR CAN BO GO?

In five weeks on the chart, Bo Burnham's zeitgeist-capturing Inside (The Songs) (Imperial/Republic, via Ingrooves) has only left the Top 10 once. Is the satirical set destined for a groundbreaking Grammy run?

The soundtrack should be a lock for Best Comedy Album, but with its presence on DSPs and sales charts, insiders are wondering if Grammy will consider the pop-culture anthems in the pop categories and beyond. Could the album, a package of hilarious lyrics on top of undeniably catchy hooks and of-the-moment production, make a run at Album of the Year?

It's been nearly a decade since an act similar to The Lonely Island, Flight of the Conchords or Tenacious D resonated with listeners. A comedic album like Burnham's Inside has yet to break through in the streaming era. With the one-two punch of virality via Netflix and TikTok, the audience for this project appears to be enormous and is clearly ever-growing.

Burnham's theatrical run this weekend will likely combine with Jeff Bezos' space mission to give the album another boost. Ahead of Tuesday's space launch, streaming favorite "Bezos I," a minute-long dance homage to the Amazon mogul, moved to #3 on Spotify Viral and hit new peaks on the platform's domestic and worldwide charts. It's also gained nearly 75k new videos on TikTok in less than a week and is now approaching 300k clips.

Will Grammy entertain the multi-platform phenomenon? Or will it be another Lost Weeknd for the Recording Academy?
