COSTELLO: SPANISH ON RECORD; ENGLISH ON TOUR

A month after UMe releases Elvis Costello’s Spanish-language reinterpretation of This Year’s Model, Costello will hit the road with longtime band The Imposters for the Hello Again tour.

Costello, Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas and Davey Faragher will play Graceland 10/13, JazzFest in mid-October and wrap 11/14 in Oakland, a day after playing the new YouTube Theater in Inglewood.

Costello will be performing songs from throughout his career.

As for the Spanish This Year’s Model, Costello and producer Sebastian Krys have brought together an international cast to sing over the original 1978 recordings for Spanish Model, which comes out 9/10.

Among the performers are Juanes—on "Pump It Up," the video for which can be viewed below—Cami, Draco Rosa, Jorge Drexler and Sebastián Yatra. The 16-track set encompasses the album plus songs from the This Year’s Model sessions that did not make it onto the final LP.

“Part of the fun of this project is its unexpected nature,” said Costello. “Although, I think people in my audience that have been paying attention are pretty much used to surprises by now.”
