An Entertainment Weekly piece on Usher's Las Vegas residency says it gives the energetic performer a platform to demonstrate that "he's unmatched."
The Ron Laffitte-repped superstar has sold north of 100m records for RCA, racking up eight Grammys and nine #1 hits. On the stage of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, writer Marcus Jones reports, Usher reminds everyone why and how he got so big. The show, replete with video montages, stripper poles and other phantasmagoria (and some steamy "Magic Mike"-style displays), is propelled by Usher's phenomenal vocal prowess and unflagging charisma.
"In terms of commercial and critical success, people forget how much Usher is in his own lane," writes Jones, "and his new residency... is here to remind them."
