TALKING WITH TEAM CAA: MATT GALLE

Following our in-depth talk with CAA music chief Rob Light, we offer the last of our lightning rounds with his team members. This exchange is with the agency's most recent addition, Matt Galle.

Welcome aboard. Word on the street is that Rob and others had been pursuing you and your team for some time. What finally sparked the move?
It was time for a change. I had been at Paradigm for 12 years and I felt that I had peaked. They were also selling the music division off, and it was going to be a different business now. My clients and I were ready for more resources. Especially after the pandemic, it came to a reality that the artists needed a lot more to rely on than just touring revenue.

Have you had a chance to get a feel for the vibe at CAA yet? You guys will be in NYC, away from the Death Star. Was there ever a chance of you moving out West?
I am still getting 100% acclimated, but I love how welcoming everyone has been. I have already been collaborating with a bunch of different agents and departments. It’s a lot of fun. No chance at the moment of moving out West. The New York office is going to be a force to be reckoned with now, though!
