TALKING WITH TEAM CAA: JOE HADLEY

In the wake of our interview with CAA music boss Rob Light, we present the latest in our series of chats with key players on Rob's team. Next up: Joe Hadley, Co-Head of Global Hip-Hop/R&B Touring Group.

What can you say about teamwork at CAA?
Teamwork is at the core of CAA’s culture; it’s one of the things we were founded on. Each artist has a minimum of two touring agents, not to mention a global team that’s assembled across departments. We communicate daily and if anything overshare information to make sure our clients are able to make informed decisions in every area.

What made it possible for CAA to come out of the last 15 months relatively unscathed when compared to the other agencies?
I don’t know that I would say “unscathed,” since having to let go of even one talented person is too many. But we were able to add great colleagues to the agency, Carly James, Mike Mori and Matt Galle among them, sign superstar clients like The Weeknd, Lil Baby and Miguel and effect change through CAA’s Amplify Town Hall and Social Impact Fund. I credit teamwork and incredible leadership for all of that.
