MEGAN WINS BIG AT BET AWARDS

DJ Khaled, DaBaby, Lil Durk and H.E.R. perform at Sunday’s BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in L.A.

Megan Thee Stallion won four trophies, including Best Female Hip Hop Artist for the second consecutive year, at the 2021 BET Awards, held Sunday at the Microsoft Theater. Lil Baby, H.E.R. and GIVĒON also received top honors.

Megan’s other wins were for Video of the Year and Best Collaboration, both for “WAP,” and the Viewer’s Choice Award for “Savage,” her collab with Beyoncé. MTS's “WAP” collaborator, Cardi B, also won two awards, as did Bruno Mars.

Lil Baby was named Best Male Hip Hop Artist. H.E.R. was deemed Best Female R&B/Pop Artist; Chris Brown took home the male honors. GIVĒON was named Best New Artist, and Mars and Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic was named Best Group. Kirk Franklin received his fifth consecutive Gospel/Inspirational trophy, for "Strong God."

Andra Day received the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Lady Day in The United States Vs. Billie Holiday.
