It's hot, it's sticky and all we want to do is hold an ice-cold beer to our fevered brows. Thankfully, Spotify has revealed its annual global song-of-the-summer predictions. Making the cut is Kristen Smith-repped Olivia Rodrigo, whose massive hit “good 4 u" (Geffen) is the most-streamed song on the Big Green Dot's charts, averaging 8m plays a day.
Ed Sheeran’s brand new track, “Bad Habits” (Asylum), is in there, as is Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More" f/SZA (RCA). Also on the list is Latin hit “Todo De Ti” (SMLE) by Rauw Alejandro and songs by Big Hit/Columbia's BTS, Warner's Dua Lipa, UMLE's Karol G, RBMG/Def Jam's Justin Bieber and more.
Spotify’s predictions are based on streaming numbers, current trajectory, future forecasting from Spotify’s global curation team and putting another dime in the algorithm, baby. The list also gives a shout-out to hotly tipped talent like AWAL sensation girl in red and Mom+Pop's freshly inkedSEB.
Song of the Summer predictions will be updated every Wednesday on Spotify’s Instagram and Twitter accounts.
