ACADEMY, DUGAN SETTLE

The Recording Academy and former President/CEO Deborah Dugan have reached a settlement prior to the start of arbitration hearings.

“The Recording Academy and Deborah Dugan have agreed to resolve their differences and to keep the terms of their agreement private,” the two parties said in a statement.

Arbitration hearings were scheduled to begin next month.

Dugan was ousted in March 2020 after being placed on administrative leave almost two months earlier, which led to a war of words between the two sides.

Harvey Mason Jr. has since taken over the reins, overseen and restructured the organization and this week announced two new co-presidents, Valeisha Butterfield Jones and Panos A. Panay.
