U.K. MIDWEEKS: CAVE CHALLENGES SOUR

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis are challenging Olivia Rodrigo for the U.K.’s Official Albums #1 at the halfway point. Over on singles, KSI’s “Holiday” (BMG) is the highest new entry of the week at #2.

Rodrigo’s SOUR (Polydor) has moved up one place to #1, while Cave and Ellis’ Carnage (Goliath) is new at #2 following its CD and vinyl rollout Friday (the digital edition landed in February).

BRITs Rising Star winner Griff has the most-downloaded album of the week so far with her debut mixtape, One Foot in Front of the Other (Warner Records), starting at #4.

Rounding out the Top 5 is Joan Armatrading, who is on course for her first U.K. Top 10 album in 30 years with Consequences (BMG) at #5.

German heavy-metal band Helloween are on the cusp of their first U.K. Top 10 with their self-titled 16th studio album (Nuclear Blast) at #7, and Norwegian folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience are heading for their inaugural Top 40 entry with Peace or Love (EMI) at #9.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Rodrigo’s “good 4 u” looks set for a fifth week at #1. KSI’s “Holiday,” which sits one place behind, arrives ahead of his new album, All Over the Place, landing on 7/16.

Eurovision winners Måneskin could secure a third U.K. Top 20 hit this week with its cover of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons’ “Beggin” (RCA), which has risen 56 places to #17. The band’s “I Wanna Be Your Slave” is up one place to #6 this week.

Elsewhere, rising British singer Mimi Webb enjoys two midweek entries—“Good Without” (RCA) advances one place to #8, while “Dumb Love” is just outside the Top 20 at #21.
