HIPGNOSIS' LITTLE ACQUISITION

Hipgnosis and its investment adviser, The Family (Music) Limited, has acquired the catalog of Grammy-winning songwriter, producer and musician Joel Little. Among the hit singles Little is credited on are Khalid’s “Young Dumb & Broke,” Imagine Dragons’ “Whatever It Takes,” Taylor Swift’s “ME!” and Lorde’s breakthrough smash, “Royals.”

Little co-wrote and produced Lorde’s debut EP and her first full-length, Pure Heroine, home to the global #1 “Royals,” which sold more than 10m units worldwide and won Song of the Year at the 2014 Grammys.

In 2017 Little reunited with Lorde for her sophomore album, Melodrama, co-penning lead single “Green Light.” Two years later, Little collaborated with Swift on her seventh studio album, Lover, including songwriting and production contributions to singles “ME!,” “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Man.”

Little has also teamed with Ellie Goulding, Shawn Mendes, Sam Smith, James Bay and Jonas Brothers. In total, his songs have been streamed more than 15 billion times.

Little was represented in the Hipgnosis deal by long-time manager Ashley Page of Page One Management and lawyer Nicky Stein of Clintons.

Hipgnosis founder Merck Mercuriadis said, “Joel is one of the most important songwriters in the world today. More than eight years on from the iconic song that is 'Royals,' he has continued to deliver massive hits for Lorde, Taylor Swift, Khalid, Imagine Dragons and many more. It’s wonderful to welcome Joel and Ashley to the Hipgnosis Family.”
