UMe HEEDS THE CALL OF SURF'S UP

Capitol/UMe is reaching into The Beach Boys’ vault to celebrate the 50th anniversary of two under-appreciated albums, Sunflower and Surf’s Up, recorded between 1969 and 1971.

A five-CD box set, Feel Flows – The Sunflower and Surf’s Up Sessions 1969-1971 comes out 7/30 and includes remastered versions of Sunflower and Surf’s Up, 108 previously unreleased tracks, live recordings, radio promos, alternate versions, alternate mixes, isolated backing tracks and a cappella versions.

Feel Flows will also be released in abbreviated configurations, including four LPs on black vinyl and limited-edition Translucent Blue and Translucent Gold vinyl; a black-vinyl double LP; and a two-CD set.

The roll-out begins today with the the streaming debut of the previously unreleased “Big Sur.” The project is the first for the Beach Boys since Brian Wilson and the gang signed on with Irving Azoff’s Iconic.
