ARISTA CROWNS URBAN MUSIC
CO-HEADS

Arista Records has a bi-coastal Urban Music team.

The House of David Massey has tapped Khristopher Riddick-Tynes as VP, A&R, and Co-Head, Urban Music (based in L.A.), and Kendell Freeman as VP and Co-Head, Urban Music (situated in NYC).

Artists falling under the purview of the pair include Princess Nokia, AUDREY NUNA, Dada1k and Yung Boi Rob; Riddick-Tynes and Freeman will be expanding the roster with new signings in hip-hop and R&B. Label boss Massey praised the two for their “incredible ears for discovering and developing authentic music.”

Riddick-Tynes is best known as a Grammy-winning writer/producer and half of production duo The Rascals (Ariana Grande, Drake, Lil Baby, Chris Brown, Rick Ross). "I’m looking forward to bringing the best artists and their music to the close-knit Arista family and beginning a new journey with this relaunched label that has been so influential in my life and throughout my music career," he said.

Freeman also has a Ross connection; he served as VP for the rapper's Maybach Music Group via WMG. Prior to that he spent eight years at Def Jam. As head of Standing Room Only MGMT, he repped multiplatinum artist Flipp Dinero. "The Arista brand is known for developing some of the biggest artists in history and I can’t wait to build on that creative legacy by supporting new urban music talent and fulfilling artistic visions inside and outside the studio," he noted.

Both execs have requested that all calls from us be sent to voice mail.
