Live Nation will reopen New York hot spot Irving Plaza on 8/17 following a multimillion-dollar renovation. Ashley McBryde will be the first artist to perform.
The historic 19th-century venue closed in 2019 and has been upgraded with improved sight lines, state-of-the-art sound/lights and world-class production. Additions include a VIP lounge with private bar and balcony-level boxes; two balcony-level artist dressing rooms with direct stage access and an adjacent green room; and an expanded lobby and bar area.
Irving Plaza can now adjust its configuration from a 1,200 standing-room-only experience to an intimate 400-seat theater space to accommodate a wide variety of performances.
“It will be great to finally be able to reconnect music fans with their favorite artists, especially here in this beautifully restored room,” said Geoff Gordon, Regional President, Live Nation.
The initial slate of 40 shows includes Guided by Voices on 9/10, JP Saxe on 11/6, The Record Company on 10/25, The Lemonheads on 11/23 and Ripe on 12/30 & 31.
