Former First Lady and permanent cultural icon Michelle Obama appeared on the 5/11 BRIT Awards to bestow the International Solo Male trophy upon XO/Republic's The Weeknd (seen below in the rainproof gear he sported for a remote performance of "Save Your Tears"). Our Michelle noted his extraordinary achievements (Super Bowl, billions of streams), the redemptive power of his music in challenging times and his generous philanthropic efforts, adding, "Congratulations, Abel." It seems even she knows The Weeknd got hosed by the Grammys.
