WASSERMAN, TWITCH LIGHT UP INDIE LIVESTREAM SERIES

Wasserman Music and Twitch are partnering on There Is Light, an indie music-discovery channel and concert series debuting today (5/4) with a performance by Perfume Genius at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles.

There Is Light will present 20 live concerts from independent music venues in the U.S. and U.K.; among those already booked are Best Coast, Cautious Clay and Jade Bird. Performances are live and free.

"In creating a branded series, our goal was to find turnkey opportunities for artists within the livestreaming space while also creating a destination for the indie music community to hear some of their favorite live acts and discover new ones from all over the world,” said Sam Alpert, SVP, Marketing, at Wasserman Music.

Each livestream will run 90 minutes with a 30-minute opener. Following the headliner's set, there will be a moderated Q&A affording the artists an opportunity to engage directly with their fans and the Twitch community. No live, in-person audiences are planned, though this is subject to change based on local Covid conditions and protocols.

Best Coast (5/11), Two Feet (5/18) and JPEGMAFIA (5/25) will appear at the Lodge Room. The Sultan Room in New York will host Porches on 6/15 and Cautious Clay on 6/29. Lafayette in London will host Jade Bird (6/27), Creeper (7/25), Orla Gartland (8/1) and The Snuts (8/8).

Further performances will be announced for Lafayette as well as venues in New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago and other cities. The series wraps 9/28.

There Is Light concerts are presented in promotional partnership with BrooklynVegan for U.S. performances and DIY Magazine for U.K. performances. Audiotree Media will produce U.S. performances; Lafayette's live production team will produce performances in London. PUSH LIVE and Executive Producer Devin DeHaven will oversee the production and digital distribution of the series.
