CMG/N-Less/Interscope's Moneybagg Yo has made the leap from mixtape hero to bona fide rap star. With his #1 debut, A Gangsta's Pain, the streaming sensation has reached career peaks in sales, subs and views.
Bagg's dominance on Apple Music provided the biggest chunk of SEA numbers for A Gangsta's Pain's, the bulk of his first-week total. His album held at #1 throughout the week on the platform, and all 22 tracks occupied Apple's Top 50 (as of this writing, four are in the Top 10, with "Wockesha" leading).
The Memphis rapper's profile has grown exponentially since 2019's 4eva Heartless, which debuted with 39k. 2020's Time Served nearly doubled that figure its first week, culminating in an impressive 111k opening for A Gangsta's Pain.
Since Time Served, Moneybagg Yo has increased his Spotify follower count 82% to more than 2m followers. In 2020, his YouTube channel gained 805k subscribers (+95% from the year prior), and he's amassed 1.3b views since the start of last year.
