The Grammy Museum will officially reopen its doors to the public on 5/21. Members will have early access from 5/15-16 and first responders, healthcare workers and essential workers will enjoy free admission through June.
In celebration of its reopening, the museum will host a special members-only virtual event on 5/13 at 5:30pm PT, which will include a recently recorded interview and performance with Brandi Carlile as well as a first look at three new exhibits: Dave Matthews Band: Inside and Out, on view through fall 2021, Y Para Siempre… Marco Antonio Solís, on display through spring 2022, and the previously announced Motown: The Sound of Young America Presented by City National Bank, open through winter 2021. The museum's This Is Nat King Cole exhibit has been extended through fall 2021.
New health-safety protocols include operating at limited capacity, advanced timed-entry online ticketing, compulsory face masks, temperature checks, a touchless visitor experience, enhanced sanitization, one-way paths through the museum, hand-sanitizing stations and more.
Additionally, the Clive Davis Theater will remain closed for evening programming but will be open during the day as part of the Motown exhibit. The Grammy Museum at Home experience, meanwhile, will continue to provide educational content and lesson plans as part of Grammy in the Schools.
"We're thrilled the day has come to welcome our community back to the Grammy Museum," said Michael Sticka, President of the Grammy Museum. "We have a wide range of new exhibits for visitors to experience, and I'm proud of our hardworking team, who have made sure the museum is safe and enjoyable for all."
