DMX HOSPITALIZED

DMX has been hospitalized after a drug overdose at his home on Friday night triggered a heart attack. TMZ reports that the legendary rapper is in the critical care unit of a hospital in White Plains, NY. According to ABC7, DMX's attorney has confirmed he is on life support.

Born Earl Simmons, DMX made his mark on the rap scene in the '90s with his debut album, It's Dark and Hell is Hot, released via Ruff Ryders and Def Jam in 1998. His highly successful follow-up, ...And Then There Was X, dropped in 1999 and became the rap star's best-selling album and was certified 5X platinum.

He's been relatively open about his struggles with addiction, most recently checking himself into rehab in 2019. We last saw the three-time Grammy nominee face off with Snoop Dogg in July 2020 during Verzuz battles that drew hundreds of thousands of viewers and reminded the world of his remarkable talent.
