Alamo/Geffen’s Rod Wave is celebrating a slew of milestones this month, including 12 new RIAA certifications.
The streaming giant’s chart-topping single “Rags2Riches” has been certified 2x platinum, while his album Pray 4 Love—which surpassed 1b streams in 2020—and tracks "Girl of My Dreams,” "Green Light” and "Dark Clouds” have achieved platinum status. "Brace Face,” "Abandoned,” "Thief in the Night," "Pray 4 Love," "Fuck the World,” "Through the Wire" and "Letter From Houston” have likewise been deemed gold.
The hip-hop star has also dropped the Shot By Eye4 Productions-directed music video for “SoulFly,” the title track from his recently released album—likely headed for a #1 debut on this week's HITS Top 50. New single "Street Runner" is currently climbing Spotify’s U.S. chart along with “Richer” f/Polo G and “Tombstone.”
Wave received his first RIAA certifications in 2020 for Ghetto Gospel, which went gold, and the single “Heart on Ice,” anointed platinum. The former XXL Freshman has been named YouTube's Artist on the Rise and ranked as the #4 U.S. artist on the platform. He can claim more than 5b global career streams.
