JODY WATLEY PARTNERS WITH NMAAM

The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) has named Jody Watley its inaugural membership ambassador. To celebrate, the Grammy winner will host a virtual members chat with the NMAAM leadership team on Thursday, 3/25.

Through Watley and its ambassadorship program, the brand new Nashville museum hopes to promote its message to an even wider audience and encourage further conversation about the contributions of Black music and culture to the soundtrack of American life.

“I’m excited to use my voice to share the story of the NMAAM and bring it to a broader audience,” Watley said. “There has never been a museum like this before, and I am thrilled to be a part of it as the museum’s inaugural membership ambassador. I urge everyone who loves music to come see and support this museum.”

“We are delighted to bring Jody Watley to the NMAAM team as our membership ambassador,” said Development and Membership Manager Kara Duke. “Black music finally has a home, and with the support of stakeholders like Ms. Watley, we can make sure it will be here to inspire visitors for years to come.”
