Spotify has launched the site Loud & Clear to introduce new transparency and data about the streaming economy.
The site offers resources for artists and industry professionals that break down the royalty system, the players and the process. Included are:
A look at revenue generation over the years, showing how many artists drove how much for each of the past four years on Spotify, globally, across recording and publishing for their respective catalogs.
An interactive tool that contextualizes monthly listener and stream numbers through 2020.
Artist profiles depicting how streaming has affected them and what the future might hold.
A video breaking down how money flows from Spotify listeners to artists.
Among the interesting data:
“Artists want the opportunity to make a living from their work. We want that, too," the site’s landing page reads. "Although more artists than ever are finding success through streaming, we’re nowhere near done, and we’ll keep pushing to grow the industry.”
