U2, YOUTUBE REWIND

While we await word on an Achtung Baby 30th anniversary tour, U2 serves up one for the punters with a series of legendary concerts to be broadcast on the band’s YouTube channel.

The U2: Virtual Tour culls four shows from the band’s archive, with each gig coming from a different point in the band’s storied history. Included is the rainy career-defining Red Rocks set from 1983 (3/25), a December 1997 stop in Mexico City from the Popmart Tour (4/1) and a Paris concert from their 2015 iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE outing (4/10).

Island Records, Interscope, UMe and UMC are offering the broadcasts for the first time ever, but each is limited to a 48-hour window.

Irish pals Dermot Kennedy, Fontaines D.C. and Carla Morrison, along with French band Feu! Chatterton, handle the opening slot with exclusive sets.

Fittingly, the run kicks off on St. Patrick’s Day (Wednesday, 3/17) with a sensational 2001 hometown show from Slane Castle outside Dublin. Grab some corned beef and cabbage. Green beer optional.
